Director Sabina Zuniga-Varela recently packed up shop and headed out west to LA! She was kind enough to send back a photo montage of her trip. Cats, apartments, sight-seeing: it’s all there. Here’s a taste of her high-flying LA lifestyle.

And a whole slideshow right here. It looks like she’s hooked up with some interesting folks already!

I was just looking over the photos of our shoot and I got really nostalgic. The smell of the fog machine, the different voices, the early mornings and following Boril as he operated the camera around the room as I looked over his shoulder. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget and I am so excited to see what the end result will be. I have spoke with John Lore, the D.P., and I think we are aiming to get this baby born by July, 9 months after it was conceived!
It can only imagine the craziness that will begin once John, Cameron and I start editing and are in a room for hours on end!
I remember saying that I wouldn’t do it again because of all the stress and planning and well…WORK! But I would do it again in a heartbeat, I actually prefer being behind the camera rather than in front. So I do hope that one day I will get to work on another film and have another great experience with another amazing cast and crew.

Dru Ruebush — Paul of In The Wind — will play the role of Gerardo in Death and the Maiden. From the Vortex Theater website:
In a South American country, a woman survivor of imprisonment and torture from a right-wing dictatorship believes she now has her torturer in her home and at her mercy. What ensues is a three-person dance of accusation, denial, justice, and mercy.
The show begins May 9 and runs through June 1. Call the Vortex at 505-247-8600 for reservations and ticket information.

DIrector of Photography John Lore recently submitted a still shot to a contest, and … well, I let him explain:
For fun I submitted a photo to a online contest 6 months ago. It was free and I thought “awww what the heck!” I just now got an email from them that my photo is a finalist and could be published in InFocus Magazine. Now it is time to vote!
I think you only have until 7pm mountain time to vote. so click the link and think 10’s baby!!! this is the first contest I have ever done, but if a win a bunch of cash i promise it wont corrupt me. wish me luck!
The name of the photo is “the psychic.” The model is Meg Corley and she is doing really well
now. You can see her on billboards all over ABQ with the Lovelace campaign! (and got the work after i did her portfolio of course, this photo being one of them) i’m so proud of her!!! She looks absolutely awesome in this image. Thank you so much!
So! Go do your civic duty and vote, woncha?
